SOQs Requested for Caltrans District 11 Solicitations 11A2368, 11A2369, 11A2370 Minimize
We are seeking Statement of Qualifications from qualified DBE firms for the Caltrans District 11 A&E Construction Management/Engineering/Inspection, Materials Sampling and Testing, and Surveying Services procurements. Subcontracting opportunities are available for the current Caltrans solicitation nos. 11A2368, 11A2369, and 11A2370, and include; but are not limited to Construction Inspection, Materials Sampling and Testing, Surveying, Electrical and Landscape Inspection, Project Scheduling, Source Inspection, Environmental Services, and Office Engineering.
Qualified firms are encouraged to submit a letter of interest describing the service(s) your firm can provide and a qualifications package including a brief firm profile, resumes, relevant project experience (with Caltrans if possible), and DBE certification documentation. Race for the Cure Minimize
Breast cancer has been no stranger to members of the KLF|SWE family. We have fought alongside some very brave women during their battles with breast cancer, and sadly suffered the loss of a coworker and friend whom we cared for deeply to the same disease. It is in honor and memory of these women that we will walk and/or run this 5k on Sunday, November 3, 2013.

At KLF|SWE we believe in community. We believe in helping others. We believe that together, we can make a difference in the life of a mother, sister, daughter, and friend!

SWE Changes Lives at Noah Homes Minimize

Simon Wong Engineering is requesting a Statement of Qualifications from qualified DBE subconsultants for OCTA’s Public Outreach for I-405 Improvement project. Subcontracting opportunities include printing and mail-house services.

Qualified firms are encouraged to participate in this project by submitting a letter of interest, which should indicate which service(s) your firm provides, and one qualifications package including resumes, related project experience, and certification documentation. Please email all information to no later than Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 12 p.m.

Please note that SWE can assist DBE’s in obtaining bonding, lines of credit or insurance, and any technical assistance; as well as obtaining necessary equipment, supplies, materials, and related assistance or services, if needed.

Members of SWE's Bridge Division ROCK Triathalon Minimize

Last Sunday team members from SWE’s Bridge Division, Elizabeth Schroth-Nichols, Karibia Encinas, and Mary Anne Nekuda, competed in the SheROX Triathlon. The SheROX Triathlon is a women’s only event that raises money for ovarian cancer. The relay sprint distance included ½ mile swim (Elizabeth), 20k bike (Karibia), and 5k run (Mary Anne). These amazing ladies came in 7th place out of the relay team category with a finish time of 1:22:55. Congratulations on your outstanding finish!

Caltrans Recognized for Safe, Smart Transportation Policy Minimize

Congratulations to Caltrans', whose Complete Streets policy has been recognized as one of the nation's leading examples of safe, smart transportation policy according to a new nationwide analysis conducted by the National Complete Streets Coalition (NCSC).  Some of the notable Caltrans Complete Streets projects statewide include one of SWE’s current design projects, the Interstate 5 Genesee Avenue Interchange Project. Eastern Maintenance Facility Expansion Project – Groundbreaking Ceremony Minimize

SWE’s public relations team recently assisted the San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG) and Metrolink with the groundbreaking ceremony for the Eastern Maintenance Facility Expansion Project. Officials from both agencies, along with dignitaries from throughout the area, celebrated the commencement of this major milestone in transportation. SWE’s work on this project not only includes as-needed public outreach services, but also inspection services through our Construction Management Division.

Brad Bailey, who is currently a structural engineering graduate student at San Diego State University, has recently joined the SWE team as an intern for the Bridge Division. Raised in the San Joaquin Valley in Northern California, Brad relocated to San Diego for the weather, beaches, and educational opportunities. In his spare time he enjoys making his own music with his guitar, taking in the Southern California scenery as he runs, and weightlifting at the gym. Welcome to SWE, Brad!
